PSO2 alpha test, here I come!  Truth be told, I participated in the first one too but played by the NDA rules.  Don’t have to worry about that this time :D

Skyrim has put an arrow in the knee of my free time. I just got it last week, give me a break. :p

Minecrafting: wrap up and do it again.
Well, here are some of the last things I did before I backed in to a pool of lava. I made a map.  First time I actually ever made one.  I actually filled in the upper half of this map before backflipping into lava. This pine tree has managed to grow on a piece of coal.  Amazing. There were several large holes under the nearby body of water with lava in them.  Interesting stuff. I also...

Minecrafting #6:
I died.  I backed in to a pool of lava to try and get away from a skeleton.  Dang.  And thus my world is no more.

Day ?? Still haven’t built a watch yet.  Must build watch.  I tell you what I did build though.  I built a zombie spawner trap. This is actually just a bunch of water that brings the zombies that spawn from the zombie spawner I found the other day down a few meters and lines them up.  I don’t need the rotten meat zombies drop.  What I do need, and you might be able to tell...

Day 5 Well, my garden sucks.  I might just fill it up with dirt.  Fishing is a much easier way to get food.  The output for gardening is just way too low compared to fishing.  So I’m just going to fish from now on. Day ? I was planting sugar cane (which you can see in the above picture) and digging sand to make glass for my house when I heard the cry of a zombie.  Being the middle...

Day 3/4 While hunting, I stumbled across an area of exposed stone in the nearby plains so I decided to start, in the words of a famous dwarf, diggy-diggying a hole there.  I made a small room and then dug a spiral staircase down.  I found a large amount of coal and a few pieces of iron and even some redstone. But that was it.  I didn’t have the tools to pull out the redstone yet so I...

Day two is the search for food.  Fighting off a few creepers and skeletons left me hurting and hungery so I went out and looked for food.  All I pretty much found was wolves though.  Seriously.  There where at least fifteen of them in the forest around my island. I also found some more pumpkins!  And wolves too.  Yeesh.  I’d call this the forest of wolves if I could name things. ...

Now that the full verison of Minecraft is out, I thought I’d try to do a playthrough.  No idea what I’m going to do yet but I’ll give it a shot.  I started with a world with the “grupperfish” (I think) seed.  It turns out that generates Water World.  I started on a small set of islands and swam south for a day but no land or trees or anything.  There was a small lava...

Happy to say I got a Vita reserved today.  I didn’t think I would be able to but I found a reputable retailer still taking reservations so I took it.

Zing.
notch: I visited my doctor last week, and he told me I had to stop masturbating. I asked him why, surely it’s not dangerous. He said it was distracting him.

Legend and Earth sucks
I was looking around the Android Marketplace and I stumbled across a rather interesting looking game called Legend and Earth.  The Marketplace page made it sound rather interesting so I bought it and after coming home from work, I gave it a whirl.  I think I put it down 10 minutes later.  Not because both male and female protagonists respectively look like Conan the Barbarian and Pamela Anderson. ...

The Word of Notch: Pre releases and Adventure... →
I wish I could go to MineCon.  Too far though.  International travel for a single weekend isn’t something I do. notch: The adventure update is going great! We’re adding features and cramming in content, and then started feature creeping and content creeping. What we’ve got on our hands now is somewhere in between a finished Adventure Mode update and a version of the game we’d be proud to...

TGS 2011
The road to TGS always starts with a local express train to the nearest bullet train station.  That takes about an hour.  Then it’s a long trip on the fastest train in Japan to Tokyo.  TGS tends to happen on a three day weekend so all the trains tend to be very full and if you don’t have a reserved seat then there is a very good chance that you won’t be sitting down.  The bullet...

TGS 2011
I’ve been planning my TGS 2011 trip and thinking about what games to see.  Currently, the only game I’m absolutely, 100%, no-doubt-about-it going to see is PSO2.  I’m not too interested in any other Sega titles so afterwards, I might head to the Sony booth to try out some of the Vita titles.  Sony is just across the aisle from Sega so it should be easy goings.  I’m worried...

PSO2 Alpha Impressions (part 1)
The PSO2 alpha ended yesterday and with it ended a bit of the NDA.  While pictures and videos are still forbidden (though I know people aren’t really following that bit), text is now allowed so I thought I’d write a bit about the alpha.  I’m also waiting for the new Deus Ex game to download and that’s taking a while.  During the alpha I pretty much mainly played a cast...

Prelude of the Chambered
My score: 9/12.  Missed three trinkets somewhere along the line. notch: I made a game in 48 hours this weekend, for the Ludum Dare competition. It’s an action based dungeon crawler with six levels, four boss fights, and plenty of secrets and loot. It takes about 20-30 minutes to beat the game, and if you die, you need to start over from the beginning. Click here to play now!

I saw that new Planet of the Apes movie tonight. I wish it would have gone a bit more with the original Planet of the Apes story line.

The Word of Notch: Bethesda are suing us, here's... →
notch: A lot of people want more details about what is going on, so here is everything I know: First of all, I love Bethesda. I assume this nonsense is partly just their lawyers being lawyers, and a result of trademark law being the way it is. About half a year ago, our lawyers recommended us to…

The Word of Notch: Back in the office, and some... →
notch: After a few weeks out of the office (E3, then Italy, then F.3.A.R this weekend (great game!)), I’m finally back in the office. The chair is a lot more comfortable than I remember, and the office is overflowing with irony. While I was gone, we’ve hired another graphics artist to help out with…  Pistons are nice.  I’m looking forward to their use as floodgates as water and...

Finally got around to uploading the last of the videos I took before my TV broke.  Whenever I can get my TV fixed, there will be more videos, this time from the Caves.  Again :(
